About the Text to Speech
Proofreading with your ears catches what your eyes skip: duplicated words, missing transitions and sentences that run too long all become obvious when spoken. Paste your draft, press Play, and listen. It is equally useful for accessibility, for resting tired eyes, and for hearing how a name or phrase actually sounds.
The voice list comes from your own operating system — grouped by language so switching from English to Spanish or Japanese takes one tap — and the speed slider runs from half to double pace. Everything is synthesized locally by the browser; your text is never sent to a server.
How to use it
- 1Type or paste the text you want to hear.
- 2Pick a voice from the language-grouped dropdown, or keep the system default.
- 3Adjust the speed slider (0.5–2×) and press Play; press Stop to end playback early.
